Sandra Kessel

Flowers, trees, leaves, plants, fruits, nuts, weeds, seed pods and roots found in four seasons inspire and challenge Sandy Kessel as a botanical artist. Recent projects include documenting native plants at Kishwauketoe Nature Preserve in Williams Bay under an ASBA Grant. Her portraits record the beauty she carefully observes in the detail of plants that surround her. After a rewarding career in nursing she is now able to pursue a lifelong love of art. Her education began at Morton Arboretum, and has continued under Heeyoung Kim and Lynne Railsback. She has exhibited at Racine Art Museum, Leigh Woodson Museum, among others.
