Linda Schmitt

After taking watercolor classes for a few years Linda Schmitt encountered Heeyoung Kim’s intriguing botanical artwork at the Fermilab exhibition and signed up for her next class. In the spring of that year her husband and Linda turned 30 acres of their family farmland into a meadow. Instead of corn and soybeans their acreage is now planted with native pollinator plants and grasses.  Kim teaches her how to document the growth of the meadow, scientifically and artistically. As the meadow grows and the land is restored to its original state, she finds subjects to capture in pen and watercolor. Each flower, bird, and animal offers a rich study of details which she is excited to share.
